The metal whistle is marked on one side, "The Acme Thunderer" and on the other "Patent England". Made of nickel plated brass with a cork pea. First issued in 1884 and patented in 1924; this one has a longer hanging loop that is found on the earlier models. The metal chain measures approximately 14 1 2" long plus 1 1 2" hook.
